App data during the current beta
Check-ins, medication timing, reminders, widgets, and app settings currently stay in local app storage on the device. They are not synced to a cloud account today.
Sign in with Apple
Sign in with Apple identifies the beta account on that device, but it does not currently turn on cross-device sync for personal history.
Apple Health
If enabled, UnderstandMe reads selected Apple Health metrics to compare them against check-in patterns. The app uses Apple Health as a read-only source for those comparisons.
Waitlist data from this website
When you join the waitlist, the website stores the details you submit so beta invitations and updates can be managed. That waitlist data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure used to run the UnderstandMe site.
Future cloud storage or product learning
The long-term product may rely on better aggregated learning across users, but that should not be assumed. If cloud sync, broader data storage, or any research-style learning layer is introduced later, it should be explicit, understandable, and optional.
Deleting app data
The beta app includes a Settings action to delete all local data from the device and return the app to setup. That action is intended to remove the app history stored locally on that device.
Where website signups live
Waitlist submissions are written to a Cloudflare D1 database tied to the UnderstandMe site worker so beta invites can be managed without mixing that signup data into the app itself.
Policy updates
This page should be updated as the app’s storage model changes, especially before any cloud sync or broader user-data collection is introduced.
